Study in Greece together with a consortium of Greek universities participated for the 6th consecutive year in NAFSA 2026 Annual Conference & Expo, which took place from 26 to 29 May in Orlando, Florida.
NAFSA is one of the only places where international educators can meet with a plethora of institutions, global partners, and solution providers offering the products and services that help shape and support the field. This year’s event gave Greek universities the chance to connect with colleagues from across the globe and explore meaningful academic and research partnerships. Hundreds of international university representatives, higher education professionals and internationalization experts visited the Greek booth, exchanged with us and learned about the progress of the internationalization of Greek universities, and the various collaboration opportunities offered within this new international environment in Greece.
The event also provided a bespoke platform to SiG members to inform counterparts from many different countries about the latest developments in Greek higher education and showcase the strengths and advantages of Greece as a study destination.
In addition to the plethora of networking opportunities offered at the NAFSA forum, Study in Greece had the chance to showcase study programs of Greek universities in a comprehensive online presentation to faculty and students of the Archimedean Schools, a consortium of schools dedicated to providing quality education based on the principles of the classical Greek world. The webinar was made possible with the support of the Consulate General of Greece in Tampa, Florida, and the Consul General, Mr Constantine Danassis. The feedback received from the attendees was heartwarming and encouraging, highlighting the appeal of studying in Greece for Diaspora students and Philhellenes alike.
SiG is grateful to all participating universities: the University of Crete, the University of Patras, the Technical University of Crete and the Harokopio University of Athens for their engagement in this year’s national representation at NAFSA, and commitment to advancing and enhancing internationalization of Greek academia. SiG would also like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Danassis and the Consulate General of Greece in Tampa for visiting the Greek booth and supporting Greek higher education in their NAFSA 2026 adventure.
Next stop – Glasgow for the EAIE 2026!
